Probiotics are a must for every meal but one pet needs to take antibiotics 2x per day and I was advised that probiotics -especially this plant based one -very pure – was necessary to offset the harshness of the antibiotics which affects his liver. Since my dog would eat dirt, I looked up why? Became clear she was searching for something missing from her diet. So protect has the prebiotics and probiotics, and it is just like eating dirt. My dog has been struggling with GI issues, red eyes and REALLY inflamed and itchy feet. After trying a few different pre/probiotic brands, adding pumpkin and trying different “sensitive skin and stomach” dog food formulas, the next step was to do Rx feeding trials, allergy testing, and GI specific blood work… after some research on gut flora and how it affects the immune system, I came across this product as a final effort before pursuing more vet work (which the vet ok-ed).
This stuff is the holy grail! His poop (after less than a week) is the firmest it’s ever been in the 1.5 years I’ve had him. No more awful gas. No more red, itchy feet. He now LOVES to eat when he would occasionally go 24-48 hours without eating before regardless of what I tried. His poop is more firm than my other dog that doesn’t have the gi issues (though now I think I’ll add some to her food too!). I’m slowly (as a precaution) weaning off the pumpkin, optimistic he won’t even require that any more. Going to put through another order already just to make sure I will always have some on hand. 😁😁
